Worship

Worship isn’t about a certain type of music or even an attitude. True worship begins with obedience, and all sin begins with disobedience. Think about the traditional attitude of worship, bowing down. In this gesture, we acknowledge God as being sovereign and submit to His authority. “Not my will, but Thine.” If we really mean this, we will obey God’s commandments. When we defy God and say no, what we really mean is “Sorry, God. I’m just as good as You are and I will make my own rules.” Isn’t this exactly what Satan did?

LORD, You alone are God.  I commit myself to obey You, and to serve You only.
